Hello all, my name is Payton Aileen Whitfield, and I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in a small East Texas town, the youngest child of five children and, lucky me, the only girl. To say growing up with four brothers was easy would be the biggest lie ever told, but I survived. Although I was dropped on my head a few times, it didn’t do too much damage. Well, not so you would notice. Unlike the average girl, I didn’t play with dolls in the usually. My brothers and I would pull the heads off them and use them for baseballs. Unfortunately, my youngest brother is three years older than I am, so it didn’t take long before I ended up at home alone. Being the only girl is sometimes worse than being the only child. At least if you never had anyone, you can’t miss what you never had. Believe me; I had plenty of time to read because my parents allowed my brothers to roam the neighborhood while I sat home. My favorite authors were Edgar Allan Poe and Stephen King. Both of whom have a flare for the macabre. Nothing got my blood pumping like a tale that sent chills down my spine. As I matured, I also enjoyed reading a good love story, so I decided to merge the two genres. Writing thrillers allows me to escape from the daily grind and sends my senses on adventures of my own ghoulish creation. I teach English, and I love it. So don’t think I would ever abandon my children. However, I’ve been writing for a number of years and have dreamed of sharing my work. Recently, I decided to push my baby out of the nest and publish it. Transcending Dawn, the Deception is the first of a series of books I will share with you. I invite each of you to read my tale of intrigue and romance as Chrissie, a bi-racial vampire, and Dylan, a drachmon warrior, begin their adventures. All my life, I’ve served as a guide as others launched their ships into uncharted waters. Now, I need your help to assist me in my venture.
